Job Overview: The Audiovisual Editing and Digital MediaIntern position is designed for individuals who are passionate about audiovisual production and digital media management. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks including supporting audiovisual digitization and preservation projects, organizing and preparing audiovisual materials for processing, and performing video editing tasks such as trimming, sequencing, and captioning. Additionally, the intern will assist with audio editing activities, create subtitles and transcripts, and conduct quality-control reviews of edited materials. The intern will also maintain digital media assets according to established folder structures and metadata practices, track project progress, and prepare documentation and reports. Collaboration with records management and communications teams is essential, as is participation in meetings and seminars where the intern will take notes and draft summary reports. The intern may also propose their own ideas and initiatives for projects and will perform other activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program at the bachelor’s level or equivalent. A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Communications, Film or Media Studies, Business Administration, Management, or related fields is preferred. Demonstrated interest in audiovisual production, archives, and digital preservation is essential. Proficiency in standard software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, is required, along with familiarity with video and audio editing software. Knowledge of multimedia production and the ability to prepare materials for advocacy and archival purposes is desirable. Applicants must also be able to provide proof of their academic status.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should be pursuing or have completed a degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Communications, Film or Media Studies, Business Administration, or Management. Candidates must be in their final year of a bachelor’s degree program or have completed a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program.
