Job Overview:
The Program Officer position at CHAI is focused on supporting the delivery of TB vaccine readiness initiatives in Indonesia. The role involves working closely with the Senior Program Manager, Vaccines, to execute defined workstreams and activities within the TB vaccine readiness project. The Program Officer will be responsible for conducting both quantitative and qualitative analyses, ensuring high-quality outputs, and maintaining coordination with government and other stakeholders. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who is organized, comfortable with data analysis, and eager to deepen their technical expertise in vaccine introduction readiness. The Program Officer will work independently on routine tasks while seeking guidance on more complex issues, contributing to the overall success of the TB vaccine readiness project in Indonesia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Officer will conduct various analytical tasks related to TB vaccine readiness, including demand forecasting, financing, health system readiness, and introduction planning. Responsibilities include gathering and validating data from multiple sources, executing assigned workstreams independently, applying project management concepts to support the National TB Vaccine Readiness Roadmap, and developing presentations and reports for government and partner engagements. The Program Officer will also establish credibility with CHAI colleagues and serve as a point of contact for routine coordination with technical counterparts. Identifying data and process issues, recommending solutions, and improving project efficiencies are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the Program Officer will support financial management of activities, monitor progress against outputs, and undertake other responsibilities as directed by the Senior Program Manager or CHAI leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in public health, health economics, health policy, economics, finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant professional experience is required, ideally in strategy consulting, global health, health economics, or analytical environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to conduct accurate analyses and synthesize information into clear recommendations. Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are crucial. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to produce well-structured written outputs with minimal oversight and to adapt effectively to high-pressure situations. Experience working with Indonesian government counterparts, particularly the Ministry of Health, is strongly preferred.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public health, health economics, health policy, economics, or finance. A Master’s degree in a related discipline is considered an advantage and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant professional experience. Ideal candidates will have experience in strategy consulting, global health, health economics, or other analytical and results-oriented environments. Experience working with government counterparts in Indonesia, particularly within the Ministry of Health or its agencies, is strongly preferred, as it will facilitate effective collaboration and understanding of the local health landscape.

Languages:
Fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Candidates should be able to develop high-quality presentations and communicate complex information clearly and concisely in both languages. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with no telecommuting options available. The role may require domestic and international travel as needed.
