Job Overview:
The role of the Volunteer Web Developer is crucial for the Rousto Charity as it seeks to enhance its digital presence and engagement with stakeholders. The selected volunteer will work closely with the project and communications team to develop a user-friendly and secure website that effectively communicates the organization's mission and activities. This position involves translating operational objectives into a functional digital interface, ensuring that the website serves as a robust tool for outreach and resource dissemination. The website will feature approximately 10 pages, including sections such as About Us, Our Projects, Contact Us, News and Events, Board of Directors, Our Team, Reports, Legal and Regulatory Documents, and a Donate Now page to facilitate direct donations. The volunteer will be responsible for maintaining the website post-launch, ensuring it remains updated and functional to maximize its impact on sustainable human development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the project and communications team to understand the website's objectives and requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a user-friendly website that reflects the organization's mission and activities.
  • Ensure the website is secure, responsive, and accessible to all users.
  • Update website content regularly to keep stakeholders informed about the organization's projects and initiatives.
  • Integrate donation functionalities to enable direct contributions through the website.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise post-launch.
  • Provide training and support to team members on how to manage and update the website.
  • Monitor website performance and implement improvements as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in web development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress.
  • Experience in website design and maintenance, with a portfolio of previous work to demonstrate skills.
