Job Overview:
The Director of Sustainable Infrastructure Portfolio and Implementation (SI PI) is tasked with leading a diverse team comprising bankers, engineers, project managers, and technical cooperation grant managers. This role is pivotal in amplifying the Bank's efforts in the Sustainable Infrastructure sector. The SI PI team is responsible for three primary functions: managing the Bank's portfolio of debt investments, sourcing and managing donor funds, and providing technical and engineering support for project design and implementation. The Director will oversee day-to-day portfolio management, ensuring that the Bank's investments in sectors such as power, energy, transport, social infrastructure, and municipal services are effectively managed and aligned with the Bank's strategic objectives. The role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners, to ensure the successful delivery of projects and the effective use of donor funds.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director will be accountable for the team's performance in meeting both quantitative and qualitative objectives outlined in the annual scorecard, which supports the broader business objectives of the Bank. Key responsibilities include providing strategic direction across the SI PI units, ensuring high-quality technical input into investment and policy dialogues, and managing the Bank's sustainable infrastructure loan portfolio. The Director will also oversee the sourcing and reporting of donor funds, maintain relationships with donors, and ensure compliance with the Bank's policies and procedures. Additionally, the Director will manage the team's budget and resources, engage in recruitment and performance management, and foster a culture of integrity and ethical conduct within the team. The role also involves contributing to the Bank's credibility and profile with stakeholders and ensuring effective communication and collaboration across various departments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience, with deep sector knowledge in sustainable infrastructure developed over significant years in the industry. A strong understanding of debt instruments, including project finance and corporate lending, is essential, along with demonstrable skills in analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis and risk management. Experience in dealing with distressed projects and familiarity with the Bank's reform agenda is also required. Leadership qualities, including coaching and mentoring abilities, are necessary for motivating team performance.

Educational Background:
A relevant university degree is required, with a preference for candidates who have advanced degrees or specialized training in finance, engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications in project management or financial analysis may also be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant experience in the sustainable infrastructure sector, with a proven track record in managing complex projects and leading teams. Experience in financial institutions, infrastructure operations, or construction companies is highly desirable, along with a strong background in investment management and risk assessment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages relevant to the regions served by the EBRD would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
