Job Overview:
The position of Contador Jr involves a range of accounting responsibilities that are crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. The primary functions include reviewing accounting documentation to ensure accurate and timely recording of income, expenses, and adjustments in compliance with established internal processes. The role requires the registration of assigned financial transactions following appropriate authorizations, as well as the review of various accounts to identify any irregularities. The Contador Jr will be responsible for entering and recording transactions related to travel expenses, suppliers, and partners into the Insight system. Additionally, the position entails managing the registration, control, and payment of taxes in Guatemala, preparing assigned financial reports, and participating in the monthly closing process. The individual will also be responsible for the banking module and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures among staff members. Maintaining updated records and completing assigned tasks related to project closures are also key aspects of this role, along with providing support for other departmental activities as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Contador Jr will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: reviewing accounting documentation for accuracy and compliance; registering financial transactions as per established authorizations; monitoring accounts for discrepancies; managing the entry and recording of travel expenses and supplier transactions; ensuring timely payment of taxes; preparing financial reports; overseeing the banking module; training staff on accounting policies; maintaining organized and updated records; ensuring the accuracy of balance sheet accounts; completing tasks related to project closures; and supporting other departmental activities as required. The role demands a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in accounting or a related field, with a focus on auditing. A solid understanding of fiscal and labor processes is essential, along with experience in managing and controlling balance sheet accounts. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in a similar position is required. Proficiency in a Windows environment and experience with Oracle or other accounting systems are also necessary. Personal skills such as the ability to integrate, reconcile, and analyze accounting information, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, are critical for success in this role. The role is expected to involve some travel, estimated at 10% to 20% of the time, primarily to local offices and sub-recipients.
