Job Overview:
The STDB Field Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation of the project "Facilitation and Assistance for Data Sharing Protocols, STDB and SHM Processing, and STDB Issuance for 5,000 Smallholder Farmers – Aceh Province". This position involves coordinating project activities across Western and Eastern Aceh, ensuring effective communication among stakeholders, and monitoring project progress. The coordinator will assist in developing detailed work plans, managing project documentation, and facilitating workshops and focus group discussions. The role requires a proactive approach to identify and mitigate potential obstacles in the field, ensuring that project objectives are met efficiently. The coordinator will work closely with the Sustainable Commodities Policy Accelerator Program Lead and will be expected to integrate equity into their work and the organizational culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The STDB Field Project Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Supporting the program lead in developing actionable work plans throughout the project period.
  • Assisting in the development of protocols, manuals, guidelines, and publications necessary for project implementation.
  • Organizing workshops and focus group discussions, documenting results, and ensuring follow-up on technical assistance to address policy barriers.
  • Conducting monitoring and providing technical assistance for STDB data collection, mapping, and verification processes.
  • Preparing and drafting project progress reports and final reports.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders, including provincial and district government agencies, to facilitate STDB implementation.
  • Interacting with stakeholders of the eSTDB platform to consolidate the smallholder farmer database and identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Building relationships with team members, experts, and external stakeholders to support project objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Public Policy, or Geography. A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in project implementation, field coordination, agriculture/commodities development, sustainable palm oil, or administration" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">land administration is required. Candidates should have a clear understanding of environmental and social sustainability issues affecting agricultural commodities, particularly in the context of palm oil and smallholder production systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data analysis and reporting is essential, along with strong coordination and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Public Policy, Geography, or other related disciplines. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of agricultural systems, land administration, and sustainable development practices, which are integral to the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. This experience should encompass project implementation, field coordination, and a strong understanding of sustainable agricultural practices, particularly in relation to palm oil production and smallholder systems. Familiarity with government policies and regulations regarding land use and agricultural commodities is also important.

Languages:
Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory for effective communication with local stakeholders and project partners. Professional proficiency in English is preferred for written communications and coordination with international project partners, enhancing collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this position is from 15 October 2026 to 31 August 2027, with the possibility of extension based on individual performance, project needs, and budget availability. The position is locally engaged, and Indonesian nationals are encouraged to apply. The consultant will be compensated at a daily rate, with a maximum of 18 working days per month. Travel insurance will be provided for both domestic and international travel as assigned by WRI Indonesia.
