Job Overview:
The Knowledge Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in leading the Facility’s knowledge management and capacity development functions. This position is crucial for establishing strategic partnerships with key financial institutions like the World Bank and the African Development Bank, ensuring that field practices are effectively connected to Headquarters policies. The Specialist is responsible for capturing and analyzing lessons learned, developing accessible knowledge products, and fostering a community of practice. Additionally, the role emphasizes the integration of gender equality, women’s empowerment, youth inclusion, and ethical use of digital technology across knowledge outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Facility’s knowledge management strategy, ensuring alignment with the 2026-2027 results framework. This includes establishing methods to capture and disseminate good practices and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate the preparation of high-quality knowledge products such as case studies and analytical summaries, while maintaining repositories and ensuring quality standards.
  • Design and facilitate peer learning programs and workshops for UN practitioners, promoting systematic learning across the Facility’s support model.
  • Provide substantive support for strategic partnerships with the World Bank and African Development Bank, including preparing analysis and documentation for partnership dialogues.
  • Conduct applied research on peace finance issues and contribute to policy development, ensuring that evidence from conflict-affected settings informs recommendations.
  • Monitor and report on the knowledge management offer, contributing to workplans and progress reports, and coordinating knowledge contributions from various stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess relevant experience in knowledge management, policy research, and organizational learning. A strong background in developing analytical products for professional audiences is essential, along with experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders. Familiarity with the United Nations or International Financial Institutions is desirable, particularly in areas related to conflict prevention and peacebuilding. Experience in facilitating peer learning and supporting institutional partnerships is also beneficial.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in fields such as knowledge management, international relations, political science, or related areas is required, along with five years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) with seven years of relevant experience is acceptable.

Experience:
Candidates should have progressively responsible professional experience in knowledge management, policy analysis, and partnerships. Experience in developing knowledge products and facilitating workshops or capacity development activities is crucial. Familiarity with digital knowledge platforms and mainstreaming gender equality in outputs is also advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified as mid-level with a contract type of Staff - IP - FTA, and is expected to last until December 31, 2027, with possibilities for extension based on performance and funding availability.
