Job Overview:
The UNFPA Field Coordinator position is critical in providing comprehensive program, administrative, procurement, and logistical support to enhance the effectiveness of UNFPA's initiatives in Timor-Leste. The Field Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and will be responsible for strengthening coordination mechanisms within municipal structures, collaborating with local government counterparts, and conducting continuous environmental policy scanning. The role requires the development and revision of training materials tailored to the local context, providing technical support for advocacy and policy documents, and overseeing the formulation of annual work plans and budgets. The Field Coordinator will also play a vital role in monitoring and evaluating program performance, ensuring financial accountability, and supporting the evaluation of project activities through field visits and regular reporting. Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the UNFPA Field Coordinator position include a strong understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights, experience in program management, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Educational Background:
Candidates for the UNFPA Field Coordinator position should possess a relevant degree in public health, social sciences, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in sexual and reproductive health, gender studies, or program management will be considered an asset. Continuous professional development and training in relevant areas will also be beneficial for candidates.
Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in program management, particularly in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs in a similar capacity is highly desirable. Candidates should also have a demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively, monitor and evaluate program performance, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for the UNFPA Field Coordinator position. Proficiency in Portuguese or Tetum is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in enhancing engagement with diverse communities.
Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, and the selected candidate will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The position may involve travel within the country, and candidates should be prepared to work in various locations as required by the program. The role is expected to be full-time, and candidates should be committed to the principles of integrity, accountability, and cultural diversity as espoused by UNFPA.
