Job Overview: The Corporate Real Estate Services Specialist / Senior Associate position is a critical role within the Corporate Real Estate Group (ACR) of the IDB Group. This position is responsible for overseeing the management of the IDB Group's corporate facilities, which include three office buildings in Washington, D.C., a Records Center in Ashburn, Virginia, a Special Representation office in Miami, Florida, and numerous country offices across Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as offices in Europe and Asia. The role involves leading a team of project managers and technical specialists, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring that all corporate real estate activities align with the organization's strategic goals. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with senior management and various stakeholders to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the corporate real estate services provided by the IDB Group.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Corporate Real Estate Services Specialist / Senior Associate include:
Leading space planning and management initiatives at headquarters, including conducting inventory and utilization analysis, assessing client needs, and ensuring compliance with workplace standards.
Directing a team of project managers, technical specialists, and support personnel, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Overseeing work programs related to construction, relocations, and space management, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
Managing projects from scope development through design, construction, and post-occupancy, while controlling schedules, budgets, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Ensuring compliance with building and design codes, as well as sustainability standards such as LEED and WELL.
Supporting the multi-year Capital Construction Program and advising on overseas facilities as needed.
Preparing executive reports and presentations on space strategy and collaborating with internal partners to improve project performance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Architecture or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Architecture with additional training or certification in agile, facilities, or project management. A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience is required for those with a Master's degree, while candidates with a Bachelor's degree must have at least 6 years of relevant experience. Experience should encompass architectural design, commercial construction or renovation, facilities operations, space planning, and project or program management, with a preference for candidates who have corporate real estate experience. Strong technical knowledge of building systems, furnishings, budgeting, contract administration, and proficiency in software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in Architecture or a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, with the latter being acceptable if accompanied by relevant additional training or certifications in areas such as project management or facilities management. Candidates are encouraged to have a strong foundation in architectural principles and practices, as well as familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
Experience: The level of experience required for this position varies based on educational qualifications. Candidates with a Master's degree must have a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience, while those with a Bachelor's degree should have at least 6 years of relevant experience. This experience should include a comprehensive background in architectural design, commercial construction or renovation, facilities operations, space planning, and project or program management. Corporate real estate experience is highly preferred, and candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading teams effectively.
Languages: Proficiency in both Spanish and English, spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of French and Portuguese is considered a valuable asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment.
Additional Notes: The position is offered as an international staff contract for an initial duration of 36 months, with the possibility of renewal based on mutual agreement. The position grade will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
