Job Overview:
The Digital Transformation Specialist will play a crucial role in the Citra Lab / SEDIT project under UNDP Sri Lanka. This position is designed for a national consultant who will be responsible for leading digital transformation initiatives that align with the strategic goals of the UNDP in Sri Lanka. The specialist will be expected to assess current digital capabilities, identify gaps, and propose innovative solutions to enhance the digital landscape within the organization and its partners. The role requires a deep understanding of digital technologies and their application in development contexts, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders to drive change and foster collaboration. The consultant will also be tasked with developing strategies that leverage technology to improve service delivery and operational efficiency within the UNDP framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital Transformation Specialist will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities including but not limited to: conducting assessments of existing digital tools and platforms; developing a digital transformation strategy that aligns with UNDP's objectives; collaborating with various teams to implement digital solutions; providing training and support to staff on new technologies; monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of digital initiatives; engaging with external partners and stakeholders to promote digital innovation; and preparing reports and presentations on progress and outcomes of digital transformation efforts. The specialist will also be responsible for staying updated on emerging digital trends and technologies that could benefit UNDP's work in Sri Lanka.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in digital transformation, technology implementation, and project management. A proven track record of successfully leading digital initiatives in a development context is essential. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also required. Familiarity with UNDP's mission and values will be considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, digital transformation, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline will be considered an advantage. Additional certifications in project management or digital transformation methodologies will also be beneficial.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in digital transformation, technology consulting, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly desirable. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the digital landscape in Sri Lanka and experience in implementing technology solutions that drive organizational change.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within UNDP. Working knowledge of Sinhala and/or Tamil is considered an asset, as it will facilitate better engagement with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is for a duration of 1 year and is classified as a National Consultant role. Only submissions from Sri Lankan individuals will be considered for evaluation, and submissions from organizations or other nationals will not be accepted. The consultant will be expected to work full-time and may need to engage with various stakeholders across different sectors to achieve the project's objectives.
