Job Overview:
This online volunteer assignment is designed to directly contribute to the efforts of WHO Mauritania and the Ministry of Health in enhancing the dissemination, accessibility, and visibility of strategic public health documents. The focus is on major national strategic documents developed with technical support from WHO and national stakeholders. These documents are crucial for strengthening public health policies and governance in Mauritania. The selected Online Volunteer will be responsible for the final graphic editing and layout harmonization of these documents, ensuring they adhere to the Government of Mauritania’s corporate design and visual identity guidelines. The role involves improving the visual presentation, consistency, formatting, readability, and overall professional appearance of the publications while maintaining the integrity of the technical content. This assignment aims to enhance communication and knowledge management products, making strategic health documents visually accessible and user-friendly, which is vital for advocacy and policy dialogue.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within WHO. Knowledge of French is highly desirable, given the context of working in Mauritania, where French is widely used in official documents and communications.

- Edit the design and layout of four public health documents, each approximately 50 pages long.
- Ensure that the design and formatting align with the Government of Mauritania’s corporate design and visual identity guidelines.
- Improve the visual presentation and readability of the documents, enhancing their overall consistency and professionalism.
- Collaborate closely with WHO Mauritania colleagues involved in partnerships, communication, and technical programs.
- Contribute to the accessibility and visibility of strategic public health documents for national authorities, partners, and stakeholders.
- Gain exposure to WHO’s work in public health and strategic communication through this collaborative effort.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in graphic design and document layout software, such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of visual communication principles and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Familiarity with public health concepts and the role of WHO in supporting health systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
