Job Overview: The position of Consultant in Inclusive Education for Students with Disabilities involves coordinating and implementing the project 'Developing Inclusive Educational Systems: What We Know and What We Do to Improve Learning for Students with Disabilities' under the Ibero-American Network of Technical Cooperation for the Education of People with Special Educational Needs (RIINEE). This project aims to enhance inclusive education policies across 19 member states, ensuring the right to education for individuals with disabilities. The consultant will be responsible for organizing cooperation activities, leading technical and operational management, and providing technical assistance in inclusive education. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including education ministries, educators, and community members, to promote educational innovation and inclusion. The consultant will also engage in research, capacity development, and the dissemination of knowledge related to inclusive education.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have several key responsibilities, including:
Coordinating activities and ensuring the effective implementation of the RIINEE project, including organizing the XXI and XXII Cooperation Days.
Implementing the third phase of internships for cooperation visits among member countries.
Collaborating on the second round of data collection for the SIRIED.
Monitoring the strategic planning process conducted with member countries.
Closing the project and preparing related reports.
Developing a new project proposal.
Leading the technical and operational management of project activities related to inclusive education.
Managing networks and partnerships among key stakeholders, including technical representatives from education ministries and educators.
Providing technical assistance in inclusive education and educational innovation. 1
Developing, implementing, and monitoring research activities and capacity development programs. 1
Supporting the development of publications and documents on inclusive education. 1
Participating in relevant reference groups and events, and assisting in their organization. 1
Contributing to the generation and dissemination of knowledge on social and educational inclusion.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in education, social sciences, communication, or related fields. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in coordinating or managing educational projects, particularly in inclusive education and educational innovation, is required. Candidates should have experience working with partners in inclusive education and social inclusion for students with disabilities, as well as experience in managing collaborative networks with various organizations, including intergovernmental and civil society groups. Proven experience in formulating, implementing, and monitoring policies and programs related to education is essential, along with basic knowledge of information systems related to monitoring the right to education for students with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Experience in designing and implementing awareness campaigns on social impact issues is also desirable.
Educational Background: A master's degree or equivalent in education, social sciences, communication, or related fields is required for this position. This advanced educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of inclusive education and the various factors that influence educational policies and practices.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in educational project coordination or management, with at least two years of international experience preferred. Candidates should have a proven track record in managing projects related to inclusive education and working with diverse stakeholders in the field of education.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of English is also beneficial, as the consultant will be required to produce materials and communicate in both languages. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this consultancy position is estimated to be eight months. The position is open to external candidates, and the work will be conducted on-site in Santiago, Chile. The consultant will be expected to submit both a technical proposal and a financial proposal, detailing their approach and methodology for the assignment, as well as their monthly fees in USD.
