Job Overview:
The Shelter Team Leader is responsible for managing and coordinating the implementation of the Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) project specifically for the South-east Myanmar offices. This role is crucial as it involves acting as the RRM focal point for NRC, ensuring that operational implementation and coordination are effectively carried out. The Shelter Team Leader will oversee RRM activities, facilitating communication between implementing partners and serving as an information hub to aid decision-making and resolve conflicts. The position requires a proactive approach to provide guidance and support to NRC's national implementing partners, ensuring that the RRM is rolled out effectively in the region. The Shelter Team Leader will also monitor early warning indicators and ensure quality implementation through follow-up and post-distribution monitoring, as well as conducting After Action Reviews to assess the effectiveness of the interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of the RRM project in South-east Myanmar.
  • Act as the RRM focal point for NRC, providing operational oversight for RRM activities.
  • Facilitate communication between implementing partners to ensure effective decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Provide guidance and support to NRC's national implementing partners in the execution of RRM activities.
  • Develop and support the roll-out of RRM in the region, ensuring the use of harmonized tools and approaches.
  • Communicate with downstream partners to ensure adequate contingency planning and preparedness in targeted townships.
  • Monitor early warning indicators to anticipate and respond to emerging needs.
  • Ensure quality implementation by monitoring results and conducting follow-up assessments.
  • Conduct After Action Reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the RRM interventions and identify areas for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Academic background in Development, Humanitarian Aid, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in shelter and emergency project implementation within a humanitarian or recovery context.
  • Proven experience in partnerships with local NGOs, CSOs, or CBOs is essential.
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts is required.
  • Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position, demonstrating effectiveness and impact in previous roles.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess a relevant academic background in Development, Humanitarian Aid, or a related field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the specific challenges faced in emergency response situations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in shelter and emergency project implementation, particularly in humanitarian or recovery contexts.
