Job Overview: The HR Intern position offers a unique opportunity for fresh graduates to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources within an international organization. The intern will be involved in various HR functions, contributing to the efficient operation of the HR unit and supporting the South Sudan Office. This role is designed to provide valuable learning and development opportunities, allowing the intern to build a career in HR. The intern will work full-time, following the same working hours as UNOPS employees, and will be closely supervised by the HR Officer, gaining exposure to all HR functions and supporting the HR team in providing essential HR services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment Support: Assist in outreach efforts for recruitment campaigns, longlisting and shortlisting candidates based on predefined criteria, administering written assessments, providing logistical support to recruitment processes, and participating in interview panels.
HR Support to the Portfolio Team: Administer contracts within UNOPS' ERP system, ensuring accuracy and compliance, contribute to the competency-based interview questions library, coordinate payments for retainers, and support the HR Officer with daily HR policy advice.
Knowledge Building and Sharing: Contribute to knowledge management projects, suggest policy improvements, support process efficiency initiatives, and provide input to the development of corporate systems.
Training and Development: Participate in training on Competency Based Interview Methodology, learn to use UNOPS ERP system for HR tasks, and gain an understanding of different contract modalities and HR policies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates are required to be currently enrolled in a university degree program or have graduated within the last three years. Preferred fields of study include Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related areas. Experience with Google Suite applications is desired but not mandatory. Applicants are not required to have prior professional work experience, making this position ideal for fresh graduates.
