The Local administration" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Land Administration Specialist position is crucial for the successful implementation of the UTF/GEO/034/GEO-F project, which aims to formulate and design land consolidation strategies in Georgia. The role involves providing local support in selected pilot areas, specifically in the village of Shavghele and potentially surrounding areas. The overarching goal of the project is to introduce a fully operational land consolidation instrument integrated with irrigation rehabilitation, contributing to increased agricultural production, efficient land use, and improved access to land and credit. The specialist will work closely with local communities, landowners, and public authorities to ensure effective communication and engagement in land consolidation activities, thereby fostering consensus and mitigating conflicts. This position requires a strong understanding of land governance and the ability to navigate the complexities of rural land administration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: providing technical support for the implementation of the land consolidation pilot project; serving as the primary focal point for day-to-day project activities; ensuring community engagement and participation; leading the identification and inventory of landowners and farmers; conducting interviews and collecting data; contributing to the preparation of the Land Consolidation Feasibility Study Report; supporting the land valuation process; participating in land re-allotment planning; facilitating local stakeholder consultations; identifying and mitigating risks during the pilot projects; and contributing to the development of the National Land Consolidation Programme based on pilot experiences.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Land Administration, Geomatics, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in land administration and management is required, with knowledge of land consolidation considered an asset. Candidates should also have a working knowledge of English, ideally at a C-level for both speaking and writing. Nationality of Georgia is a requirement for this position.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Land Administration, Geomatics, or a closely related discipline. Candidates must ensure that their qualifications are recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in land administration and management. Experience working with rural communities, farmers, and in multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale development projects is highly desirable. Familiarity with land governance and tenure systems is also important.
Languages:
A working knowledge of English is mandatory for this position, with a preference for candidates who can demonstrate proficiency at a C-level in both speaking and writing. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not specified as a requirement.
