Job Overview: The Project Development Officer will be part of a team of 19 employees and will report to the Development Manager. The primary responsibilities include contributing to the drafting of project proposals, coordinating contributions from the Atlas Headquarters team, and facilitating kick-off meetings for project writing exercises while ensuring adherence to timelines. The officer will also be responsible for the digital archiving of working versions and final versions of project proposals, as well as contracts for accepted proposals. The role may also involve preparing reports, promoting Atlas Logistique's activities internally and externally, and participating in meetings with donors. The position emphasizes the importance of project proposal writing and associated tasks, with the potential for additional responsibilities based on workload.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to the drafting of project proposals, providing support to the program when there are field opportunities or coordinating with the Atlas Direction when necessary.
Coordinate the contributions from the Atlas Headquarters team, including the Deployment and Technical poles.
Participate in or facilitate kick-off meetings for project writing exercises, ensuring compliance with the project timeline.
Manage the digital archiving of working versions and final versions of project proposals, as well as contracts for accepted proposals.
Maintain and update the organization's information tool (CRM).
Prepare reports as needed.
Communicate and promote Atlas Logistique's activities, creating posts and project sheets.
Attend meetings and appointments related to donors.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong organizational skills.
Proficiency in French and English.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Significant experience in writing humanitarian project proposals and submissions to donors, including the design of concept notes and cross-cutting approaches (climate, gender, etc.).
Educational Background: A relevant educational background in humanitarian studies, project management, international relations, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of humanitarian principles and practices, as well as the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Experience: Candidates should have a proven track record of experience in project development within the humanitarian sector, particularly in proposal writing and donor engagement. Experience in coordinating teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, and proficiency in English is also required. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions in which HI operates.
Additional Notes: This is a fixed-term contract (CDD) for 3 months, with the possibility of extension depending on secured funding. The position is classified as a supervisory agent role, requiring a commitment of 39 hours per week.
