Job Overview:
The Finance Intern position at UNU-Centre Finance offers a unique opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience in financial management processes within an international organization. Under the guidance of the Chief of Finance and designated supervisors, the intern will support various functions of UNU-Centre Finance. Additionally, the intern will assist in the collection and validation of financial data, support the preparation of reports and presentations, and help coordinate meetings. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are crucial to the functioning of UNU-Centre Finance. These include conducting research and performing data analysis to support the development and review of finance and operational policies, procedures, and guidelines. The intern will assist in the collection, validation, and analysis of financial data and information, which is essential for accurate reporting and decision-making. Furthermore, the intern will support the preparation of reports, presentations, and other financial documentation, ensuring that all materials are well-organized and professionally presented. Coordination of meetings will also be a key responsibility, which includes preparing agendas, taking minutes, and managing correspondence. The intern will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the Finance Intranet, focusing on content management and user experience improvements. Additionally, the intern will engage in knowledge sharing and capacity building initiatives by supporting training activities and participating in internal knowledge networks. Other duties and special projects may be assigned by the supervisor as needed, providing a comprehensive learning experience.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Finance Intern position must possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy, as these qualities are essential for effective financial management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also required, enabling the intern to work collaboratively within a multi-cultural team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is necessary for data analysis and reporting tasks. Additional Notes:

Interns who do not receive financial support from other sources will receive a stipend from UNU to help cover basic living costs during the internship.
