Job Overview:
This position involves consulting for the design of qualifications in the mining and quarrying sector, utilizing the methodology of the National Qualifications Framework. The role requires the engagement of six consultants who will work collaboratively to develop qualifications that meet industry standards and educational requirements. The consultants will be expected to analyze current practices in the mining sector, assess educational needs, and propose a framework that aligns with national and international standards. The assignment is set for a period of three months, during which the consultants will conduct research, engage with stakeholders, and produce comprehensive reports outlining their findings and recommendations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultants will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to: conducting thorough research on the mining and quarrying sector, identifying key competencies required for various roles within the industry, collaborating with educational institutions to align qualifications with industry needs, developing a structured framework for qualifications based on the National Qualifications Framework, preparing detailed reports and presentations on findings, and providing recommendations for implementation. Additionally, the consultants will need to engage with stakeholders, including industry representatives and educational authorities, to gather insights and feedback throughout the process.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess either a Technical or Technological degree in engineering or natural sciences, or a professional university degree in the same fields. For university professionals, a minimum of three years of experience in activities related to the mining and extractive sector is required, particularly in processes associated with mining exploitation, extraction and utilization of metallic and non-metallic minerals, underground mining, extractive sustainability, industrial and environmental safety in mining, and support activities for the operation of mines and quarries. For Technologists and/or technicians, a minimum of five years of relevant experience is necessary.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Technical or Technological degree in engineering or natural sciences, or a professional university degree in these fields. This educational foundation is essential to ensure that the consultants have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the design of qualifications in the mining sector.
Experience:
The level of experience needed for this position varies based on the educational background of the candidates. University professionals must have at least three years of experience in the mining and extractive sector, while Technologists and technicians are required to have a minimum of five years of relevant experience. This experience should encompass activities related to mining exploitation, extraction of minerals, and sustainability practices within the industry.
Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is Spanish, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in this language. Proficiency in Spanish is essential for effective collaboration and reporting. Additional languages may be considered an asset but are not required for this role.
Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this position is three months, and it is classified as an individual contractor role.
