The organization has implemented projects across several regions in Sudan, including Central Darfur, South Kordofan, Gedaref, Port Sudan, and White Nile. Sudan is currently home to one of the largest displaced populations in Africa, with over 3.7 million internally displaced persons and more than 1.1 million refugees from neighboring countries such as South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, the Central African Republic, Chad, Yemen, and Syria. The ongoing political crisis in Sudan has led to significant economic and social challenges, including rising food and energy costs, disease outbreaks, and persistent conflict, which further complicate the humanitarian landscape.

Job Overview:
The Information Management (IM) Specialist will play a pivotal role in establishing and implementing a coordinated and consolidated information management system for the FCDO HOPE S programme. This position entails the development of a common database tool and a PowerBI dashboard, as well as the maintenance of IM information, data cleaning, and conducting data analysis to monitor the data collected across the consortium. The IM Specialist will collaborate closely with the coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator to ensure high-quality quantitative and qualitative data analysis. This role is essential for enhancing programming and advocacy efforts by streamlining the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information in line with professional standards. The IM Specialist will contribute to improved evidence-based programming by enhancing the quality of IM products, including monitoring reports and rapid assessment snapshots that are shared with key stakeholders both internally and externally.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IM Specialist will be responsible for several key duties, including:
  • Setting up a harmonized interoperable information management system that facilitates data sharing and coordination across the consortium, contributing to broader protection analysis in Sudan.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of the consortium’s information management systems, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security.
  • Leading the development and regular updates of the PowerBI dashboard based on newly developed data collection tools.
  • Collecting, assessing, analyzing, and disseminating information to relevant stakeholders, producing quality reports and dashboards.
  • Producing monthly program snapshots and dashboards that highlight key issues and trends while adhering to GBVIM minimum standards and data protection policies.
  • Supporting the production of thematic reports and other IM materials in consultation with consortium partners.
  • Providing technical support to consortium IM focal points, including training and capacity building.
  • Ensuring data protection and confidentiality in compliance with DRC’s policies and relevant standards.
  • Developing and implementing data quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and timeliness of data collected across programs. 1
  • Collaborating with program teams, MEAL, and IT departments to ensure that information management activities align with broader program strategies and objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of practical experience in information management and/or monitoring, particularly within humanitarian settings. They should have a strong understanding of research and data collection methodologies, as well as experience in developing and rolling out data collection tools. Proven experience in creating PowerBI dashboards and data visualization is essential, along with a background in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. The ability to interpret, analyze, and synthesize information in a fast-paced environment is crucial, as is demonstrable experience in producing analytical reports under tight deadlines using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and other data analysis software is required, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. Experience in capacity building and the development of training materials is also necessary.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Human Rights, Law, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background will provide the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and information management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in information management and monitoring, specifically within international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) operating in humanitarian contexts. This experience should include practical knowledge of data collection methodologies and the ability to develop and implement information management systems effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this role, as effective communication in these languages is essential for collaboration with diverse stakeholders and for the dissemination of information.

Additional Notes:
The contract type is a national contract with a duration of 12 months. The position is classified under Band N.M.G.1, with a starting salary of USD 2,300.0
