Job Overview:
The primary function of this position is to provide a high-quality translation of the UNESCO Dakar annual report from French to English. This report, which is approximately 50 pages long, is essential for communicating the office's actions and achievements to partners, civil society, and beneficiary communities. The translator will receive the report via email and is expected to deliver a polished English version that accurately reflects the original content. The translation must be completed by the deadline of November 1, 2026, ensuring that the report is ready for distribution to stakeholders. This role not only requires linguistic skills but also an understanding of the context and significance of UNESCO's work in the region, as the translated report will enhance visibility and understanding of the organization's initiatives in both French and English-speaking countries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Translate the annual report from French to English, ensuring accuracy and clarity in the translation.
  • Maintain the original meaning and intent of the text while adapting it for an English-speaking audience.
