The position involves conducting a National Situational Analysis on Volunteerism in Kiribati. The consultant will be responsible for assessing the current state of volunteerism in the country, identifying key challenges and opportunities, and providing recommendations for enhancing volunteer engagement. This analysis is crucial for understanding the role of volunteerism in community development and social cohesion in Kiribati. The consultant will work closely with local stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to gather data and insights. The assignment is expected to take 20 working days, during which the consultant will analyze existing volunteer programs, policies, and frameworks, and evaluate their effectiveness in promoting volunteerism.

Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A minimum of a Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in volunteer management or community development would be an asset.
Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in conducting research or assessments related to volunteerism, community development, or social policy. Experience working in Kiribati or the Pacific region is highly desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Kiribati would be an advantage, as it would facilitate better engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to be completed within a specified period of 20 working days. The consultant will work remotely but may be required to travel within Kiribati for stakeholder consultations. The contract duration is fixed, and the consultant will be compensated based on the agreed terms in the contract. The position is open to both national and international candidates.
