Job Overview:
The OSCE Mission to Serbia is seeking to create a roster of local interns for its Political, Communication and Reporting Section (PCRS). This internship is designed for individuals who are citizens or permanent residents of Serbia and are under the age of 3

• The internship will last for three months, with the possibility of extension for an additional three months, depending on performance and service requirements. Interns will gain valuable insights into the workings of an international organization and contribute to the mission's political, reporting, and communication activities. Interns will be assigned to one of three units within the PCRS, focusing on political affairs, communication, or reporting, and will have the opportunity to express their preferences in their application. The internships are unpaid, but they provide a unique learning experience and the chance to engage with the OSCE's mission in Serbia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of the Chief of Policy and Coordination and the respective Head of Unit. Duties include monitoring media updates on political developments in Serbia, drafting news updates and press summaries, assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations, and creating communication materials such as press releases and social media content. Interns will also assist in editing and translating materials, conducting research, and liaising with field teams to ensure the accuracy of written products. Additional responsibilities include participating in field visits, drafting meeting minutes, and organizing outreach activities. Interns are expected to perform other duties as required, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the PCRS.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be citizens or permanent residents of Serbia and under the age of 30 at the time of application. A university degree in political studies, law, international relations, development studies, journalism, communication, or humanities is required, or at least two years of full-time studies in these fields. Fluency in English and Serbian is mandatory, along with strong communication skills. Candidates should possess strong analytical, research, and drafting abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment is essential, as is political sensitivity and awareness of the national and regional context. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and video conferencing software is also required, along with the ability to work with diverse groups while maintaining impartiality.

Educational Background:
A university degree in relevant fields such as political studies, law, international relations, development studies, journalism, communication, or humanities is required. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with at least two years of full-time studies in these areas from an accredited institution. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of the political and communication tasks involved in the internship.

Experience:
While previous experience in international organizations, diplomacy, journalism, academia, governmental or civil society organizations, or political organizations is not mandatory, it is considered an asset. Experience with drafting and editing written materials, as well as managing social media channels, is also desirable. Candidates are encouraged to demonstrate any relevant experience in their applications, as this can enhance their suitability for the internship.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Serbian is mandatory for this position. Excellent communication skills in both languages are essential for effectively engaging with various audiences and adapting language and style as needed. While not required, proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset.

• Interns will not receive remuneration, but a daily compensation towards living costs will be provided for those who do not reside in Belgrade and do not receive financial support from an educational institution. In 2026, this compensation is set at EUR 16.4 per day, increasing to EUR 17.2 per day in 202
• Interns must provide proof of health insurance valid in Serbia, or they will be required to join the OSCE group health insurance, for which they will pay a premium. The OSCE will cover the costs of group life and accident/disability insurance.
