Job Overview:
The Senior Brand Marketing Officer will play a pivotal role in leading marketing initiatives aimed at expanding Action Against Hunger’s reach and enhancing brand storytelling to achieve measurable engagement and fundraising outcomes. This position reports directly to the Director of Brand & Communications and is responsible for developing and executing brand campaigns, content strategies, and partnerships across both organic marketing and digital channels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in marketing, with a focus on strategy development, testing innovative ideas, and executing campaigns in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. The role emphasizes the importance of collaboration with fundraising, donor marketing, and global communications teams to attract new supporters, improve donor retention, and foster sustainable giving.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Brand Marketing Officer will be tasked with a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: developing and executing organic marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness, generating donor leads, and fostering lasting supporter engagement. The officer will lead integrated brand campaigns, such as those for World Food Day and World Humanitarian Day, which are crucial for fundraising and audience growth. Additionally, the role involves overseeing a website refresh to enhance user experience, content quality, organic traffic, and lead generation. The officer will identify and manage strategic brand partnerships to broaden reach and connect with new audiences. Translating program impact and technical expertise into compelling narratives for donors, media, and the public is also a key responsibility. Collaboration with various departments, including fundraising, communications, partnerships, and country offices, is essential to align marketing initiatives and bolster donor retention. Establishing KPIs, managing brand performance dashboards, and utilizing insights to refine engagement and fundraising outcomes are critical tasks. The officer will also be responsible for testing messaging, creative assets, channels, landing pages, and user journeys to optimize marketing performance. Staying abreast of digital trends, platform changes, and emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance processes and campaign delivery is expected. Furthermore, the officer will share brand partnership and organizational updates with employees to foster internal awareness and engagement, and may manage external agencies, consultants, freelancers, or interns as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field. An MBA or a master’s degree is considered a plus. A minimum of 7 years of marketing experience with a proven track record of driving measurable business or brand growth is required. Strong strategic and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to translate performance data into actionable recommendations. Exceptional communication, writing, editing, and storytelling skills are crucial for success in this role. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively across a global, matrixed organization and collaborate with colleagues in international markets. A highly organized and detail-oriented approach, along with initiative and adaptability to evolving priorities, is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and English proficiency is mandatory. Working knowledge of Spanish or French is advantageous but not essential. A commitment to Action Against Hunger’s mission, integrity, and respectful collaboration with diverse teams is expected, along with availability for domestic and international travel, including field visits, and the ability to work outside normal office hours as required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field. Candidates with an MBA or a master’s degree will have an advantage in the selection process, as advanced education is often associated with a deeper understanding of marketing strategies and business operations.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 7 years in marketing roles that have demonstrated the ability to drive measurable business or brand growth. This experience should encompass a variety of marketing functions, including strategy development, campaign execution, and performance analysis, ideally within a nonprofit or humanitarian context.

Languages:
English proficiency is mandatory for this position, as it is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with external stakeholders.
