Job Overview:
The intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Communications Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Communications Analyst at UNFPA Türkiye. The primary role of the intern is to support visibility and communication activities, particularly in creating visual and written content for the organization's website and social media accounts. The intern will engage in a structured work-plan that includes agreed-upon achievements and learning opportunities throughout the internship. Regular progress meetings will be held to ensure a beneficial environment for skill enhancement in areas related to UNFPA's mandate. The intern will be involved in various aspects of communication, including content creation, social media management, and event support, contributing to the overall mission of UNFPA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for assisting in various visibility and communication activities related to development and humanitarian programs. Specific duties include: assisting in the development of audiovisual and written content in both Turkish and English; producing and editing videos with subtitles; generating and designing social media content such as infographics and quote cards; creating captions for social media and website content; posting prepared social media content on UNFPA Türkiye's social media accounts; translating and editing web articles, stories, and press releases; maintaining and updating the digital asset management system and media lists; supporting the Communications Team during physical and online events; preparing donor-requested reports; and performing any other relevant tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in a first university degree program (such as a bachelor’s degree) and have completed one full academic year, or be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (such as a master’s program). Recent graduates who have completed their degree within the last year are also eligible, provided they start the internship within one year of graduation. Additionally, candidates may be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee program and undertake the internship as part of this program. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in communications, experience in graphic design, video editing, and social media communications, and proficiency in written and spoken English.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being enrolled in a university degree program, having completed at least one academic year, or being a recent graduate. Candidates pursuing postgraduate degrees or professional trainee programs are also eligible. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the communication strategies and policies of UNFPA.

Experience:
Candidates should demonstrate a clear interest in the field of communications, along with practical experience in graphic design, video editing, and social media communications. Familiarity with tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere) is highly desirable. The ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds is also important.

Languages:
Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Turkish is also essential, as the intern will be required to create content in both languages. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This internship is unpaid, and interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. Interns must cover their own living expenses, accommodation, travel, and other requirements. However, a stipend may be provided to help cover basic daily expenses if the intern is not financially supported by an institution or program. The stipend amount varies based on the duty station. Additionally, interns are required to have medical insurance for the duration of the internship, and proof of insurance must be submitted before the internship begins. UNFPA does not provide medical insurance for interns.
