Job Overview:
The Video Editor Support Developer will play a crucial role in supporting the e-academy and online courses aimed at enhancing the capacity of Botswana entrepreneurs and policymakers in the field of e-commerce. This position involves working closely with the Chief of Service to develop and implement a comprehensive training program that will empower participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the digital economy. The contractor will be responsible for creating the e-academy structure on the Teachable platform, uploading course materials, and ensuring that the content is engaging and accessible. Additionally, the role includes editing video lessons, finalizing course content, and supporting the launch and dissemination of the e-academy, which is a vital resource for the Government of Botswana.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the creation of an e-academy by establishing the structure on Teachable and uploading prepared course contents and materials.
  • Edit video lessons for online courses, ensuring high-quality production by adding intros and outros, and finalize the video course lessons.
  • Upload completed videos to the Teachable platform to complete the Botswana e-Academy.
  • Assist in the launch and dissemination of the e-academy and online courses, including organizing a launch event and related activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the training meets the needs of Botswana entrepreneurs and policymakers.

Required Qualifications:
A recognized 1st level Degree (Bachelor) in Media Technology, Technology, or a related area is required. Additionally, candidates must have experience working with software for creating online courses, as well as experience in editing videos and other materials for online courses. Familiarity with uploading content to e-platforms and creating online courses or e-academies on Teachable is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Media Technology, Technology, or a related field. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the technical aspects of video editing and online course creation.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant work experience in the field of online course creation and video editing. This includes practical experience with software tools used for developing online educational content and a proven track record of successfully uploading and managing course materials on e-learning platforms.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is essential for collaborating with stakeholders and delivering training content. Proficiency in additional languages may be beneficial but is not specified as a requirement.
