Job Overview:
The Change Management - Senior Manager position is a pivotal role within UNOPS, focusing on leading change management efforts for large-scale transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and delivering comprehensive change management strategies and plans that facilitate the adoption of new processes and practices across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of the complexities involved in managing change, particularly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Senior Manager will engage with executive and senior leadership to ensure alignment and support for change initiatives, while also navigating the intricate dynamics of stakeholder relationships. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive change management approach and plan for assigned transformation programs or projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Conduct change impact assessments to identify the implications of new processes and practices on various stakeholder groups, and develop tailored strategies to address these impacts.
  • Collaborate with regional transformation advisors and change management specialists to coordinate change management activities across the organization, ensuring a consistent and effective approach.
  • Engage with senior leaders and stakeholders to drive alignment and commitment to change initiatives, facilitating effective communication and collaboration throughout the change process.
  • Lead the implementation of change management plans, utilizing UNOPS's Change Management toolkit to address the specific needs of each initiative.
  • Monitor and evaluate change adoption and outcomes, developing performance indicators and reporting progress to program governance.
  • Contribute to the development of UNOPS's change management practice, sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues and mentoring junior change managers.
  • Ensure that change management considerations are integrated into the transition to business-as-usual operations, promoting sustainability and long-term success of new ways of working.

Required Qualifications:
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, International Development, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in combination with an additional two years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • Professional certification in change management (e.g., Prosci, APMG Change Management or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with recognized program or project management methodologies (e.g., MSP®, PRINCE2®, PMP®) is also desirable.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in leading organizational change management activities for business transformation or medium-to-large-scale program implementation is required.
  • Experience managing stakeholders in complex environments and building relationships is essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, International Development, or Public Administration. Candidates with a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) may be considered if they possess an additional two years of relevant experience. Professional certifications in change management and recognized project management methodologies are highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's qualifications for this role.

Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in leading organizational change management activities, particularly in the context of business transformation or medium-to-large-scale program implementation. This experience should include managing stakeholders in complex environments and building effective relationships to facilitate change. Experience within the United Nations system or other international organizations is considered an asset and may strengthen a candidate's application.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is required, with a fluent level necessary for effective communication in this role. Additionally, knowledge of French and Spanish at an intermediate level is desirable, as it may enhance collaboration with diverse stakeholders and partners across different regions.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified as a senior-level role (ICS 11) and is offered on an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA) basis, specifically as an IICA - Regular contract. The contract duration is ongoing until December 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
