Their contributions will facilitate evidence-based programming and improve the monitoring of results, thereby supporting the organization's efforts towards achieving the SDGs through better data availability and informed decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected Online Volunteers will be responsible for the following tasks:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail. They should be able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting. Familiarity with data collection methodologies and tools is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the organization's mission and values, particularly in relation to empowering underprivileged communities and promoting sustainable development.
Educational Background:
A background in social sciences, development studies, statistics, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of data collection and analysis principles, as well as experience in working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Experience:
While specific years of experience may not be required, candidates should have relevant experience in data collection, analysis, or related fields. Experience working in non-profit organizations or development projects will be considered an asset. Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their implementation is also beneficial.
Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as all communications and reporting will be conducted in this language. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Nigeria may be considered an advantage, as it can facilitate better engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work hours. The organization is looking for 25 Online Volunteers to support this initiative, and there is no specified deadline for applications. The role is part-time and may require a commitment of several hours per week, depending on the data collection needs and the volunteers' availability. - Discuss and define the objectives of the data collection process along with the Programme Coordinator.
- Develop or identify a suitable methodology tool for data collection, if necessary, and propose an implementation plan.
- Identify and screen potential data sources to ensure reliability and relevance.
- Conduct data collection using the defined methodology and tools from the selected sources.
- Create and prepare a comprehensive report that captures the findings from the data collection process. These responsibilities are designed to ensure that the data collected is accurate, relevant, and useful for the organization's goals.
