Job Overview: The Digital Transformation and AI Consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing IDB Invest's capacity to identify, structure, supervise, and scale advisory engagements aimed at improving business efficiency through AI-enabled solutions. This position requires a hybrid profile that combines business transformation experience with technical fluency in AI governance and execution. The consultant will engage with various stakeholders across sectors such as Financial Institutions, Corporates, Agribusiness, Manufacturing, Retail, Insurance, Telecommunications, Infrastructure, and Energy, translating operational challenges into high-value opportunities. Responsibilities include assessing current operations, identifying AI use cases, designing solutions, building business cases, and supporting pilot implementations, all while ensuring responsible AI governance and stakeholder alignment.
Duties and Responsibilities: As a Digital Transformation and AI Consultant, your responsibilities will include: assessing organizational operations to identify AI improvement areas; prioritizing high-impact use cases for AI applications; designing agentic AI solutions with clear functional and technical blueprints; building strong business cases that articulate expected benefits and assess investments; supporting technical assistancedesign and delivery; guiding vendor engagement throughout the project lifecycle; establishing responsible AI governance; providing hands-on support during pilot implementations; assessing impact and supporting scale-up efforts; and strengthening internal capabilities through knowledge transfer and tool development. You will also maintain a pipeline of AI-enabled efficiency opportunities and craft narratives for senior executives to illustrate the value of operational efficiency gains.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree in Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Technology Management, Geography, Geospatial Technologies, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have between 5-9 years of experience in digital transformation, technology strategy, operational improvement, intelligent automation, and management consulting, with hands-on leadership in AI-enabled efficiency initiatives. Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and managing multi-stakeholder projects in Latin America and the Caribbean is highly desirable.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree in relevant fields such as Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Technology Management, Geography, or Geospatial Technologies is strongly preferred for this position.
Experience: The position requires between 5-9 years of relevant experience in areas such as digital transformation, technology strategy, operational improvement, and management consulting, particularly with a focus on AI-enabled efficiency and intelligent automation initiatives. Experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders in the Latin America and Caribbean region is an asset.
Languages: Proficiency in both Spanish and English, spoken and written, is mandatory for this role. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is considered a plus.
Additional Notes: This is a national consultant position, full-time for a duration of 36 months, with the possibility of extension up to 48 months. Candidates must be eligible to work in Paraguay without sponsorship and must not have family members working at IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
