The Fundraising Operations Officer plays a crucial role within the Fundraising Team at Mercy Corps, which is responsible for securing both restricted and unrestricted funding while enhancing relationships with supporters and strengthening the organization's global brand. This position focuses on providing essential operational support across various functions, including gift processing, donor database management, financial reconciliation, data selections, reporting, and campaign analysis. The officer will be tasked with delivering accurate and timely operational processes, maintaining high-quality donor data, and providing insightful analysis to support fundraising activities and decision-making. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident in working with data, systems, and financial information. They will manage their own workload, identify and resolve issues, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Fundraising Operations Officer will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including:
- Database Management: Maintaining accurate and complete donor and fundraising data within Raiser’s Edge and other relevant systems; processing data imports and updates; conducting routine database checks; and supporting colleagues with day-to-day fundraising systems usage.
- Gift Processing: Accurately processing donations and related transactions; supporting the recording and reconciliation of fundraising income; processing donor refunds and other gift-related transactions; and ensuring adherence to gift processing procedures.
- Finance and Reporting: Reconciling fundraising income, investigating discrepancies, and supporting the preparation of Gift Aid claims; developing and maintaining reporting dashboards; and providing data analysis to support fundraising planning.
- Data Selections and Campaign Analysis: Preparing targeted data selections for fundraising campaigns; validating data for use in communications; and supporting colleagues with campaign planning and evaluation.
- Supporter Engagement: Responding to supporter inquiries; processing requests and updates; and maintaining accurate records of supporter interactions.
- Compliance and Best Practice: Applying relevant regulations and organizational policies; maintaining records for compliance; and contributing to the review of operational procedures.
- Process and Systems Improvements: Participating in the development of fundraising operations policies; identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements; and documenting processes clearly.
Required Qualifications:

- Experience in operational, administrative, fundraising, finance, or data-related roles.
- Proficiency in working with a CRM or relational database and managing substantial volumes of data.
