Job Overview:
The Program Deputy Field Coordinator (P-DFC) is responsible for supervising the implementation of programs in alignment with SI's annual country strategy and the evolving humanitarian needs in the area. The P-DFC will support the design and implementation of new projects, ensuring the quality of project execution through direct management of Program Managers. Additionally, the P-DFC will assist the Field Coordinator (FC) in representing the organization in external meetings as delegated. The role includes project inception and proposal development, providing technical support to teams in SI's sectors of intervention (WASH, Shelter, FSL, and more), assessing operational impact and quality of deliverables, leading needs analysis at the base level, and managing the Implementation Partnership portfolio. The first month will focus on supporting and empowering the PROG & MEAL team, developing a new ECHO proposal, and closely following up on winterization responses and WASH activities under AFD funding.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 1 year in a similar position. An engineering background or education in WASH or a related technical field is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate sound project management experience and knowledge of SI's sectors of intervention, including WASH, Shelter, and FSL.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required for this position. This educational background should ideally be complemented by specialized training or coursework in areas related to humanitarian aid, project management, or technical fields relevant to the organization's focus areas such as WASH or Shelter.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 1 year in a similar role. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing projects and teams in challenging environments, demonstrating the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and effectively address the needs of affected populations.
Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of French is considered an asset, as well as proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian, which would be beneficial for communication within the local context.
Additional Notes:
This position is a short-term contract with a duration of 6 months, starting from December 1, 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Mykolayiv, Ukraine, and involves working under security constraints due to ongoing conflicts in the region. The compensation package includes a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 2,475, a monthly per diem of EUR 700, accommodation costs, and travel expenses covered by SI. Expatriates will also receive an insurance package covering healthcare expenses and a system of breaks during the assignment.
