Job Overview:
The Associate position within CHAI’s Market Shaping Team (MST) is designed to support market shaping strategies across various programmatic areas. The role involves working on two key projects related to Women’s and Newborn Health (WNH) and Diagnostics. The Associate will be responsible for developing market access strategies for preeclampsia and maternal anemia-related commodities, as well as for AI-supported diagnostics. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to synthesize large amounts of data, and work independently while managing multiple priorities. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a commitment to improving access to health commodities in LMICs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: conducting market analyses to identify opportunities for enhancing the affordability and availability of health commodities; developing demand forecasts and uptake models to inform pricing strategies; executing cost and impact analyses for innovative financing and procurement models; analyzing country introduction and scale-up requirements to support government adoption; preparing presentations and reports to inform global policy; collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design and execute interventions; developing market analytic frameworks and tools; supporting business development efforts; and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders across CHAI and partner organizations.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment such as management consulting, global health, or government. Strong analytical and quantitative modeling skills are essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. The candidate should demonstrate strategic thinking, adaptability to ambiguity, and the capability to work effectively in a multicultural and remote environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required, along with a willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Fluency in English is mandatory.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, with a preference for candidates who have pursued studies related to global health, public health, economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees may be advantageous but are not explicitly required.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in sectors such as management consulting, global health, or government. Experience in roles that involve market analysis, strategic planning, or health commodity access is particularly valuable. Familiarity with the dynamics of low- and middle-income countries and experience working in decentralized teams are also beneficial.
Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills are considered advantageous, particularly those relevant to the regions where CHAI operates, as they can enhance communication with local stakeholders and partners.
