Job Overview:
The intern position at the EBRD is designed to provide support to bankers in various transaction-related processes. The intern will be involved in data gathering, research, and analysis, contributing background information on companies or sectors relevant to ongoing projects. This role includes administrative and analytical support in project monitoring, as well as the production of reports required during the project cycle. The intern will liaise with the Bank’s internal credit department and other relevant departments, draft specific portions of EBRD documents and correspondence, and attend meetings with bankers when appropriate. The intern will also assist in the Team's Technical Cooperation (TC) Project, gaining valuable experience in the banking sector and exposure to international financial operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Conducting thorough data gathering and research to support project initiatives.
  • Analyzing financial data and providing insights into companies or sectors.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and documentation required throughout the project cycle.
  • Liaising with various departments within the Bank to ensure smooth communication and project execution.
  • Drafting specific sections of EBRD documents and correspondence as assigned.
  • Attending meetings with bankers and contributing to discussions where appropriate.
  • Supporting the Team's TC Project by providing necessary administrative and analytical assistance.
  • Engaging with a diverse range of experts in the financial, political, public, and private sectors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess proven analytical skills, numerical skills, and financial skills, including the ability to design basic financial models. The ability to work well within a team is essential, as is having very good written and verbal communication skills in English. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates should also demonstrate computer literacy, particularly in financial software and data analysis tools.

Experience:
Some relevant commercial experience is preferred, with experience in other International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and donor experience considered a plus. The intern should be able to demonstrate a foundational understanding of banking operations and financial analysis.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the EBRD. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the EBRD's operational regions would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a six-month internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position, with a contract duration of 6 months. The role is designed for full-time engagement, with the expectation that employees will attend the office 50% of their working time.
