Job Overview:
The Head of People & Culture at WWF Tanzania is a pivotal role that involves overseeing the management of human resources within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of People & Culture management are applied, enabling a skilled, engaged, and high-performing workforce that effectively delivers the organization's Conservation Strategy. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head of People & Culture will implement the People & Culture component of the TCO Strategic Plan, ensuring best practices in human resource management are applied across all personnel. Responsibilities include managing personnel contracts to ensure fairness and compliance with national labor laws, facilitating training and capacity building for staff, maintaining accurate personnel data, and ensuring effective communication regarding HR matters. The role also involves managing recruitment processes, performance appraisals, and contract renewals, as well as participating in annual remuneration reviews. The Head of People & Culture will analyze performance management outputs and develop improvement plans, maintain HR data and statistics, and provide regular reports to the Country Director. Additionally, the role includes developing and implementing an Occupational Health & Safety Management System, assisting in organizational structuring, and supervising field projects related to HR issues.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a post-university degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or related fields, with an MSc in HRM or MPA being an added advantage. Membership in a relevant professional body is considered a strong asset. A proven track record in human resources administration and management is essential, along with at least 8 years of professional experience in the field. Knowledge of the institutional, legal, and policy framework of employment and HR management in Tanzania is also required.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a post-university degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or other related fields. An MSc in Human Resource Management or a Master of Public Administration (MPA) will be considered an advantage. Candidates with membership in a relevant professional body will have a competitive edge in the selection process.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in human resources management. Candidates should have a proven track record in human resources administration and management, demonstrating their ability to effectively oversee HR functions and contribute to organizational success.
