Job Overview:
The Chauffeur SC2 position at WFP involves ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of authorized personnel and goods. The role is critical in supporting the operational needs of the organization, particularly in the field office in Adre. The incumbent will be responsible for driving various types of vehicles, including light vehicles, trucks, and motorcycles, and may also be required to operate boats. In addition to driving duties, the position may involve performing simple administrative tasks within the office or warehouses. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of vehicle upkeep and adhere to safety regulations while providing transport services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a valid driver’s license or driving certificate that allows them to operate the assigned vehicle in compliance with local regulations. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with team members and beneficiaries.
Educational Background:
A minimum of secondary education is required for this position. Candidates must also have formal driver training and a valid driving license that complies with local regulations, allowing them to operate the assigned vehicle safely and legally.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least two years of driving experience, preferably in an embassy, UN agency, or other international organization. Experience driving various vehicle types, including vans and other motorized vehicles, is essential. Familiarity with the local driving conditions and preventive driving techniques is highly desirable.
Languages:
Proficiency in French and Sudanese Arabic is mandatory for this position, with a level C competency required. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport authorized personnel and deliver goods efficiently and safely, ensuring compliance with UN safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security regulations.
- Welcome official personnel and visitors at airports or other entry points, assisting with visa and customs formalities to ensure smooth and secure transitions to authorized destinations.
- Maintain a detailed vehicle maintenance log and report daily mechanical status to the supervisor to ensure efficient vehicle usage and fuel consumption.
- Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary travel authorizations and safety equipment, reporting any mechanical issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow established rules and regulations regarding field deliveries and report any incidents or accidents immediately to the supervisor for informed decision-making.
- Perform simple administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, photocopying, stock management, and delivering or collecting items, to provide administrative support.
