Job Overview:
The position of Resilience Crisis Response & Social Cohesion is aimed at building a roster of qualified national individual consultants who can be called upon to support UNDP's initiatives in Lebanon. The role involves contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that enhance social cohesion and resilience in communities affected by crises. The consultants will be expected to engage with local stakeholders, assess community needs, and design interventions that promote social stability and recovery. This position requires a deep understanding of the socio-political context in Lebanon and the ability to work collaboratively with various partners, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners. The consultants will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the impact of their interventions, ensuring that they align with UNDP's goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Resilience Crisis Response & Social Cohesion consultants include but are not limited to:

• Conducting assessments to identify community needs and vulnerabilities in the context of crises.
• Developing and implementing strategies and action plans that promote social cohesion and resilience.
• Engaging with local communities and stakeholders to foster collaboration and participation in resilience-building initiatives.
• Providing technical assistance and capacity building to local organizations and government entities.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and reporting on progress to UNDP.
• Collaborating with other UN agencies and partners to ensure a coordinated response to crises.
• Documenting best practices and lessons learned to inform future programming.
• Participating in training and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to crisis response and social cohesion.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in social sciences, development studies, or a related field. They should have proven experience in crisis response, community development, or social cohesion initiatives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with the socio-economic and political landscape of Lebanon is highly desirable, as is experience working with international organizations or NGOs.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social sciences, development studies, international relations, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset for candidates applying for more senior roles within the roster.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in crisis response, community development, or social cohesion projects. Experience working in Lebanon or similar contexts is highly advantageous. Proven experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building is also required. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory. Knowledge of French or other languages spoken in Lebanon is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Additional Notes:
This position is for a roster of national individual consultants, meaning that selected candidates will be engaged on an as-needed basis for specific projects or assignments. The contract duration will vary depending on the specific needs of UNDP and the projects undertaken. The role is expected to be full-time during the engagement period, and consultants may be required to travel within Lebanon as part of their duties. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and in line with UNDP's policies for individual contractors.
