Job Overview:
The position of Information Technology and Digital Transformation is part of a call for roster for national individual consultants. This role is crucial in supporting the UNDP's mission to enhance digital transformation initiatives within Lebanon. The consultant will be expected to provide expert advice and technical support in the areas of information technology, digital solutions, and transformation strategies. The position requires a deep understanding of the current digital landscape and the ability to implement innovative solutions that align with UNDP's goals. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders, including government entities, to facilitate the adoption of digital technologies that improve service delivery and operational efficiency. The role also involves assessing existing IT systems, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements to ensure that digital initiatives are effectively integrated into the broader development agenda.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: conducting assessments of current IT infrastructure and digital capabilities; developing and implementing digital transformation strategies; providing technical guidance on IT projects; collaborating with stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for digital solutions; ensuring that digital initiatives are aligned with UNDP's strategic objectives; training and capacity building for local staff on digital tools and technologies; monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of digital initiatives; preparing reports and documentation related to IT projects; and participating in meetings and workshops to promote digital transformation efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in information technology and digital transformation. Required qualifications include a proven track record of successfully implementing IT projects, experience in digital strategy development, and familiarity with the latest digital technologies and trends. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Knowledge of the UNDP's mission and operations is an asset, as is experience working in the public sector or with international organizations.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an advantage. Continuous professional development in digital technologies and project management is also desirable.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in information technology and digital transformation. Experience working with international organizations or in a consulting capacity is highly valued. Proven experience in managing IT projects from inception to completion, as well as experience in stakeholder engagement and capacity building, is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory. Knowledge of French or other languages is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the contract duration will be determined based on project needs. The position is full-time, and candidates may be required to work on-site in Beirut, Lebanon. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
