Job Overview:
The Partnerships Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the Partnerships, Reporting, and Communication Unit. This role involves close coordination with various technical units such as Programme, Budget & Programming, and Research Assessment & Monitoring (RAM). The primary functions include implementing partnership activities, resource mobilization, and advocacy efforts. The specialist will be responsible for developing high-quality funding proposals, reports, and information notes. Additionally, the role requires contributing to the development and diversification of partnerships, producing data-driven analyses and recommendations to enhance existing partner engagement, and identifying new funding opportunities. The specialist will also coordinate the collection of programmatic and operational information, prepare strategic materials for partners and management, and support decision-making processes. The position involves field missions, advocacy events, and activities with partners, donors, and UN system actors to promote WFP's priorities and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The specialist will ensure effective communication and coordination with various WFP offices and monitor the implementation of the country office's private sector engagement strategy.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in partnership development and resource mobilization. They should be adept at producing high-quality written materials and have experience in data analysis and visualization. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to WFP's mission and values, including respect for confidentiality and ethical standards. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential. The candidate should also be proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in partnership practices.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in international relations, development studies, business administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset for the position. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in understanding the complexities of humanitarian and development contexts, as well as the skills necessary for effective partnership management and resource mobilization.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of professional experience in partnership development, resource mobilization, or related fields. Experience working in humanitarian or development organizations, particularly within the UN system, is highly desirable. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including government entities, NGOs, and private sector partners. Experience in data analysis and reporting, as well as familiarity with WFP's operations and objectives, will be advantageous.
Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the working language of the organization in Mauritania. Proficiency in English is also required, as it is essential for communication with international partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Arabic, would be considered an asset and could enhance the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of partners.
Additional Notes:
The contract duration is initially set for a specific period, with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability, operational needs, and satisfactory performance. However, there is no guarantee of extension beyond the initial contract. Volunteers will receive a monthly subsistence allowance intended to cover housing, basic needs, and utility costs, amounting to MRU 40,00

- Coordinate the collection of programmatic and operational information, prepare strategic materials for partners and management, and support decision-making.
- Monitor and analyze partnership data using institutional systems to support WFP's positioning and influence public policies.
- Participate in field missions, events, and advocacy activities with partners, donors, and UN system actors to promote WFP's priorities and SDGs.
- Facilitate communication and coordination with various WFP offices (headquarters, regional office, global office, other country offices).
- Monitor the implementation of the country office's private sector engagement strategy.
- Ensure the team's work organization tools are updated, including the team's work plan. 1

- Additional benefits include travel to the duty station, installation allowance (if applicable), medical insurance (including dependents, up to three), disability insurance, and life insurance. A return travel ticket to the recruitment location (if applicable) will be provided, along with a reinstallation allowance after satisfactory service. For duty stations classified under categories D or E according to ICSC classification, a monthly well-being allowance will be provided, calculated at 15% of the applicable VLA for well-being level A and 30% for well-being level B.
