Job Overview: The Business Transformation Officer will play a crucial role in partnering with various business units to understand their operational needs and requests. This position is designed to contribute to the transformation of business requirements into effective IT solutions, ensuring that the needs of the business are met through the use of technology. The officer will support digital initiatives by developing business cases, managing stakeholder communications, and monitoring user satisfaction and service performance. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process automation and improvement, utilizing WFP's digital platforms and tools. The officer will also be responsible for maintaining the service catalog of IT solutions, ensuring compliance with WFP's digital transformation standards, and assisting in managing the IT service desk to ensure effective incident handling and user support. This position is integral to enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness within the organization, contributing to WFP's mission of delivering humanitarian assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Business Transformation Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting digital initiatives through business case development, planning, risk tracking, and stakeholder communication; contributing to the documentation and analysis of business requirements for IT solutions; identifying opportunities for process automation using WFP platforms; maintaining an up-to-date service catalog of IT solutions; ensuring compliance with digital transformation standards and policies; assisting in managing the IT service desk; ensuring data governance practices are implemented; analyzing existing business processes to recommend improvements; developing business intelligence solutions and dashboards; coordinating digital transformation projects; supporting the implementation of information management strategies; maintaining oversight of the digital solutions portfolio; and delivering training and change management activities to enhance the adoption of digital solutions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of IT solutions and business processes, with the ability to analyze and document business requirements effectively. They should have experience in user support activities and a proven track record of delivering high-quality services to users. Familiarity with data modeling and information flows is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement are also required.
Educational Background: The position requires an advanced university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience or training may be considered. Candidates should have a solid academic foundation that supports their understanding of IT systems and business processes.
Experience: A total of at least 5 years of relevant experience is required, including a minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a related field. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in supporting digital initiatives and managing IT solutions, with a focus on user satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of Arabic is also required. Candidates who are fluent in additional languages may have an advantage, as multilingualism is valued in the organization.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract for a duration of 12 months, based in Aden, Yemen. The role is classified at the NOA level, indicating a junior professional position within the organization.
