Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Assistant Logistics plays a crucial role in supporting the Supply Chain department by ensuring efficient and effective logistics implementation and the smooth running of departmental operations at the capital office. This position emphasizes support for logistics staff and functions, including the implementation of DRC Dynamics, the organization's ERP system. The role is expected to contribute to strengthening the overall supply chain functions and ensure that audit recommendations related to logistics are implemented. The post holder will assist the Supply Chain team leader in managing fixed assets and fleet management, ensuring that all logistics operations are conducted efficiently and in compliance with DRC’s internal procedures and donor requirements, as outlined in the Operations Handbook.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management: Assist the Supply Chain Team Leader (SCTL) in ensuring compliance with the Operations Handbook on inventory and warehouse management at the capital level. Provide monthly comprehensive reports on warehouse inventory to the SCTL, including lists and stock values. Ensure timely distribution and disposal of inventory to maintain accurate records. Implement DRC warehousing procedures across all warehouse premises and activities, including maintaining stock/bin cards, temperature control, and expiry checks.
  • Asset Management: Support the SCTL in compliance with the Operations Handbook on asset management. Assist in compiling monthly comprehensive reports on inventory/assets and ensure all assets are tagged, particularly for Energy and ICT equipment. Establish a systematic reporting system for all related equipment.
  • Fleet Management: Maintain the fleet management database and ensure monthly mileage reports are generated and analyzed. Ensure all generators used by DRC are well maintained and serviced regularly. Coordinate with the logistics officer and program staff to perform fleet right-sizing exercises.
  • DRC Dynamics ERP System: Ensure proper application of DRC Dynamics supply chain processes, particularly in procurement and asset management. Utilize reports and data analytics from the ERP system to enhance supply chain performance.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in humanitarian logistics management, specifically in Supply Chain Management, Fleet Management, Asset Management, and Distribution Support. Candidates should possess excellent computer skills in MS Word and Excel, along with experience working with an ERP system. Familiarity with standard procurement procedures and documentation is essential, as is experience working in an international or national NGO setting.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional certifications or licenses relevant to logistics and supply chain management may be advantageous.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of relevant experience in humanitarian logistics management, demonstrating a solid understanding of supply chain processes, fleet management, and asset management. Experience in an NGO environment is highly desirable, as it provides insight into the unique challenges and requirements of humanitarian operations.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered desirable and may enhance communication with local stakeholders and team members.

Additional Notes:
This position is a national contract with a duration of 12 months. The salary range starts from USD 1,025.00, and the duty station is Port Sudan, at the country office. The start date is as soon as possible.
