Job Overview:
The Partnership and Resource Mobilization Specialist will play a crucial role in strengthening FAO Oman’s engagement with both national and international partners. This position is pivotal in identifying and pursuing partnership and resource mobilization opportunities that align with FAO’s strategic objectives. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders, including government ministries, development partners, donors, and private sector entities, to facilitate collaboration and mobilize resources necessary for implementing FAO’s programs in Oman. The role requires a proactive approach to mapping potential partnerships and funding opportunities, ensuring that all activities are consistent with FAO’s Strategic Framework and national development priorities. The specialist will also contribute to maintaining an updated overview of partnerships and funding opportunities, ensuring effective follow-up and coordination of related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Partnership and Resource Mobilization Specialist include supporting the development and implementation of partnership and resource mobilization strategies aligned with national priorities and FAO’s Strategic Framework. The incumbent will assist in mapping and monitoring existing and potential donors and partners, identifying funding opportunities, and maintaining an updated pipeline of potential partnerships. Additionally, the specialist will provide technical support to FAO staff in managing records of interactions with stakeholders, assist in developing project ideas and resource mobilization materials, and prepare briefing materials for meetings with donors and partners. The role also involves organizing donor meetings and consultations, maintaining records of partnership activities, and collaborating with various FAO teams to enhance resource mobilization efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in fields such as international development, economics, business administration, international relations, agriculture, environmental sciences, or public policy. A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in partnership development, resource mobilization, donor relations, or project management is required. Additionally, candidates should have a working knowledge of both English and Arabic, and must be either nationals of Oman or residents with a valid work permit.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as international development, economics, business administration, international relations, agriculture, environmental sciences, or public policy. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of partnership development and resource mobilization in the context of FAO’s mission and objectives.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in areas such as partnership development, resource mobilization, donor relations, and project management. Candidates should have a proven track record of engaging with stakeholders and managing partnerships effectively, particularly within the agriculture or development sectors. Experience working with government institutions and international stakeholders is highly desirable.

Languages:
Proficiency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. This bilingual capability is essential for effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and international partners. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
