Job Overview:
The Communications Specialist - Communications and Grants position is integral to the consortium management structure for the 'Pathways to Protection' (P2P) project, which is a collaborative effort involving the Danish Refugee Council, Danish Red Cross, and The International Detention Coalition. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective communication strategies are implemented across the consortium, which operates in ten countries along Mediterranean migration routes. The specialist will work closely with the Project Development and Quality (PDQ) Coordinator to execute the P2P Communication Strategy, which aims to promote the program's mission and objectives. The role involves creating and disseminating communication content for both internal and external audiences, ensuring that the messaging aligns with the consortium's advocacy efforts and donor visibility requirements. The specialist will also provide support for grants-related tasks, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the visibility and impact of the P2P program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1) External Communication: The specialist will contribute to the planning, development, and implementation of external communication and visibility activities in accordance with the Communication Strategy. This includes organizing annual Communications Planning Workshops, drafting and finalizing content for various external channels such as the DRC website and social media platforms, and conducting field visits to gather communication materials. The role also involves producing a range of communication materials, reviewing outputs from country offices, and facilitating coordination among contributors to ensure alignment with the P2P Communication Strategy. 2) Internal Communication: The specialist will manage the CMU SharePoint Hub, ensuring it serves as a central repository for communication guidelines and resources. They will coordinate the production of the Consortium Internal Newsletter and other internal communication deliverables to foster engagement among partners. 3) Support to Grants: The specialist will ensure timely preparation and submission of communication annexes for annual reporting, provide support in reviewing reports from consortium partners, and assist in guiding partners on grants management and project cycle management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to create strong communication materials. Proficiency in English and French is essential, with the ability to develop diverse content types, including visual media. Experience in an international NGO setting is preferred, along with cultural and gender sensitivity. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are necessary, as well as proficiency in software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and InDesign.

Educational Background:
A university degree in communication, journalism, international relations, or a related field is required. Equivalent professional qualifications may also be considered acceptable for this position.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience in communications and/or advocacy is required. Candidates should have a proven track record of developing communication strategies and materials in a humanitarian context.

Languages:
Professional fluency in English, French, and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
