Job Overview:
As a Field Coordinator, you will work under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and play a crucial role in contributing to the development of Action Against Hunger's country strategy and design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design. Your responsibilities will include coordinating field operations and implementing integrated programs, strengthening local partnerships, engaging with communities, and ensuring localization at the field level. You will manage the field team while receiving technical support from the Heads of Departments, and facilitate effective coordination and collaboration with the coordination team. This position requires a proactive approach to managing operations and ensuring that the organization's mission is effectively carried out in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to: contributing to the strategic development of the country program, overseeing the implementation of integrated programs, managing field operations, and ensuring that all activities align with the organization's mission and objectives. You will be expected to strengthen partnerships with local organizations and communities, engage in effective communication and coordination with various stakeholders, and manage the field team by providing guidance and support. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring security and access management, budget and resource management, and facilitating training and capacity building for team members. Your role will also involve monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness and making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must hold a degree in a relevant field such as Humanitarian Action, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related discipline. A minimum of three years of experience in a senior management role within humanitarian and/or development organizations is required, particularly in contexts similar to Afghanistan. Candidates should possess strong managerial competencies, including strategic planning, operational management, budget and resource management, and security management. Excellent communication, coordination, and facilitation skills are essential, along with negotiation skills and the ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
Educational Background:
Candidates must have a degree in a relevant field such as Humanitarian Action, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related area. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the challenges faced in the field.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in a senior management role within humanitarian and/or development organizations. Experience in project management is essential, as is a proven track record of managing teams and operations in challenging environments.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of local languages spoken in Afghanistan would be advantageous. Proficiency in additional languages may also be beneficial, depending on the context of the work and the communities served.
Additional Notes:
This position is available for both national and international applications. National applicants will be offered a 6-month contract according to ACF's internal and national salary conditions in Afghanistan, while international applicants will receive a fixed-term contract under French legislation for 6 months. The monthly gross salary ranges from 2597 to 2968 euros based on experience, including a 13th-month payment. Additional benefits include reimbursement of pension insurance for non-French citizens, annual salary increases, monthly per diem and living allowances, cold allowances for winter equipment, child allowances, transportation and accommodation coverage, and comprehensive medical coverage. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year, 20 rest and recuperation days, and support for career development through training and access to an e-learning platform.
