Job Overview:
The Fishery Officer (Aquatic Food Value Chains) will be part of the Value Chain Development Team within the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division at FAO headquarters. This position focuses on the development of aquatic food value chains, aiming to reduce food loss and waste, enhance the production of value-added products, and promote sustainable aquatic food production and consumption. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Fishery Officer will undertake a variety of key functions, including researching and analyzing fisheries and aquaculture data to support program delivery. Proficiency in English (level C) and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is mandatory. Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree, specifically a Master’s degree or equivalent, in fields such as agricultural economics, fishery economics, food science, or technology. Experience:
