Job Overview:
The Electromechanical Technician position at CERN involves working in a high-technology environment where you will be responsible for the design, assembly, wiring, testing, and commissioning of advanced electro-mechanical equipment. Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Electromechanical Technician, your primary responsibilities will include inspecting and testing advanced materials, conducting quality checks, and performing measurements to ensure compliance with specifications. You will support laboratory testing activities and evaluate material behavior under various mechanical conditions. Additionally, you will gain hands-on experience in creating electrical diagrams, wiring equipment, programming PLCs, and commissioning electro-mechanical machines. You will also participate in the assembly, testing, and operation of specialized machinery, working closely with experienced engineers and technicians to integrate new materials into innovative cables and coils for future technologies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess basic experience in electrical testing or material testing, as well as the ability to read and draw circuit diagrams. Experience in cabling and commissioning electrical cabinets or machines is considered an advantage, along with mechanical assembly experience. Knowledge in instrumentation and data acquisition is also beneficial. The ideal candidate should be reliable, autonomous, and able to work effectively both independently and in teams. Proficiency in spoken and written English or French is required, with a commitment to learn the other language being essential.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a general secondary education diploma. Candidates must be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State and should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field. Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree are not eligible for this position.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a maximum of two years of professional experience in the relevant field since graduation. This experience should ideally be in areas related to electrical or electronics engineering, but candidates with basic experience in related fields may also be considered.

Languages:
Proficiency in spoken and written English or French is mandatory for this position. Candidates should also be committed to learning the other language, which is essential for effective communication within the organization.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this position is 24 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 36 months. The working hours are set at 40 hours per week, and the job is fully onsite. The target start date for this position is October 1, 202
