Job Overview:
The position involves the establishment of a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) for national nursing consultants in Guinea, specifically for the United Nations Clinic. The role is crucial for ensuring that the clinic has access to qualified nursing professionals who can provide essential healthcare services. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Health Manager at the UN Clinic and will be responsible for developing a roster of qualified nursing consultants who can be called upon as needed. This position is designed to enhance the clinic's capacity to deliver high-quality healthcare services to UN personnel and their families in Guinea. The contract is structured to cover 120 working days over a period of three years, allowing for flexibility in the deployment of nursing consultants based on the clinic's needs. The consultant will also be expected to engage with the UNDP procurement system and follow the necessary procedures for submitting bids and proposals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the nursing consultant include:

• Developing and maintaining a roster of qualified national nursing consultants who can be deployed to the UN Clinic as needed.
• Collaborating with the Health Manager to assess the clinic's staffing needs and identify gaps in nursing services.
• Ensuring that all nursing consultants meet the required qualifications and standards set by the UNDP and the clinic.
• Providing training and orientation for new nursing consultants to ensure they are familiar with the clinic's protocols and procedures.
• Monitoring the performance of nursing consultants and providing feedback to improve service delivery.
• Assisting in the development of healthcare policies and procedures that align with UNDP standards.
• Engaging with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders to promote best practices in nursing care.
• Participating in regular meetings with the Health Manager and other clinic staff to discuss operational issues and improvements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A valid nursing license issued by the relevant authorities in Guinea.
• Proven experience in nursing, preferably in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Strong understanding of healthcare policies and practices in Guinea.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with the UNDP procurement processes and systems is an advantage.
• Proficiency in using computer applications relevant to healthcare management.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Additional certifications in specialized nursing areas (e.g., emergency care, pediatrics, etc.) are highly desirable.
• Continuous professional development and training in nursing practices will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional nursing experience, with a focus on clinical practice. Experience working in international organizations or with UN agencies is preferred. The ability to demonstrate a track record of providing high-quality nursing care and managing healthcare projects will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the official language of Guinea and the primary language of communication within the UNDP. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international staff and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is a consultancy role with a contract duration of 120 working days spread over three years. It is a full-time position that requires the consultant to be available for deployment as needed. The role is open to national candidates only, and the compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The consultant will be required to adhere to the UNDP's ethical standards and guidelines throughout the duration of the contract.
