Job Overview:
The Field Coordinator serves as the delegated director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for a specific region in South Sudan where Solidarités International operates. This role involves proposing a regional strategy based on the geopolitical and humanitarian context and ensuring its implementation. The Field Coordinator is responsible for overseeing project execution in alignment with the Solidarités International charter and internal procedures. They mobilize necessary resources for program operations, supervise resource management, and ensure the security of the teams in their assigned area. The position requires strong coordination skills to engage with various stakeholders, including consortium partners, and to navigate the challenges posed by remote areas and political restrictions on assistance. The initial priorities for the first two to three months include scaling up the team, coaching managers, and revising operational modalities in collaboration with the consortium.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Coordinator's duties include:

• Proposing and implementing a regional strategy in line with the humanitarian context.
• Ensuring that projects are executed according to the organization's charter and contractual obligations.
• Mobilizing material and financial resources necessary for program operations.
• Supervising resource management and ensuring the security of team members in the assigned zone.
• Acting as the direct contact and representative of the Country Director.
• Engaging in strong coordination with consortium partners and other stakeholders.
• Addressing challenges related to remote interventions and political restrictions.
• Supporting the scaling up of the team and coaching managers.
• Revising operational modalities in conjunction with the consortium. 1
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and making necessary adjustments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in humanitarian/development studies, social sciences, management, or a related discipline. They should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years in a similar position. Technical skills required include strong knowledge in team management and mentoring, the ability to handle diverse issues, and the capacity to manage a high workload with tight deadlines. Good representational skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders, including INGOs, NNGOs, authorities, and donors, are essential. A solid understanding of security management and humanitarian issues, including IDPs and camp management, is also necessary. Candidates should be able to write and edit quality reports in English, and previous experience in a consortium or Rapid Response Mechanism is preferred.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as humanitarian or development studies, social sciences, management, or other related disciplines. This advanced education is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and for effectively managing teams and projects in challenging environments.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a preference for those who have 0-2 years of experience in a similar role. This experience should encompass various aspects of humanitarian work, including project management, team leadership, and engagement with diverse stakeholders in complex environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing communication with local communities and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position is a salaried role with compensation starting from EUR 3080 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2800 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The mission implements a system of alternating work and time off, allowing for breaks every three months, with a USD 850 break allowance. An insurance package is provided, covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Juba include shared accommodations with basic amenities, while field conditions may be very basic, sometimes involving tents or limited access to internet and electricity.
