Job Overview:
The Senior Learning and Development Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the organizational effectiveness of IFPRI by supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of various learning and development initiatives. This position is integral to fostering a culture of continuous learning and employee engagement within a diverse workforce. The incumbent will work closely with the Human Resources team and managers across the Institute to identify development needs and coordinate learning programs that align with IFPRI's strategic objectives. The role also involves administering performance management processes and contributing to HR projects and policy development, ensuring that the organization meets its goals effectively. The position is based in New Delhi, India, and requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate collaboration with colleagues in different time zones, particularly in the U.S.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Senior Learning and Development Specialist include identifying organizational, team, and individual development needs through various assessments and stakeholder consultations. The incumbent will design and implement targeted learning solutions to address capability gaps and enhance leadership effectiveness. Responsibilities also include developing an annual Learning and Development Plan, managing professional development benefits, partnering with vendors to deliver high-quality learning interventions, and overseeing the Institute’s learning platform. Additionally, the specialist will coordinate employee engagement initiatives, manage the annual performance review process, provide training on performance management, and contribute to human resources projects aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Adult Learning, Business Administration, Education, or a related field, along with seven years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in one of the aforementioned disciplines with five years of relevant experience is acceptable. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in conducting learning needs assessments, designing blended learning solutions, and facilitating learning programs for diverse audiences. Knowledge of performance management strategies and the ability to analyze workforce data are also essential. Strong communication skills, a proactive service-oriented approach, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment are required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Adult Learning, Business Administration, or Education. A Master’s degree in one of these disciplines is preferred and can substitute for some years of experience. Candidates should have a solid foundation in adult learning principles and organizational development practices.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, or five years for those with a Master’s degree.
