Job Overview:
The position involves recruiting two national consultants for the collection, analysis of data, and the development of the National Report on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Central African Republic (CAR). The consultants will be responsible for ensuring that the report accurately reflects the progress made towards achieving the SDGs in the country. This role is crucial as it contributes to the monitoring and evaluation of the SDGs, which are essential for guiding national policies and strategies. The consultants will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners, to gather relevant data and insights. The expected duration of the consultancy is 30 working days spread over two months, during which the consultants will be expected to deliver high-quality outputs that meet the standards set by UNDP.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultants will have several key responsibilities, including:

• Collecting and analyzing data related to the Sustainable Development Goals in the Central African Republic.
• Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to gather information and insights necessary for the report.
• Drafting the National Report on the SDGs, ensuring that it is comprehensive and aligns with UNDP guidelines.
• Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders and incorporating feedback into the final report.
• Ensuring that the report is submitted on time and meets the quality standards expected by UNDP.
• Engaging in discussions and consultations with government officials and other partners to validate data and findings.
• Providing technical support and guidance to local teams involved in the data collection process.
• Preparing and delivering presentations on the findings of the report to various audiences.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Proven experience in data collection and analysis, particularly in relation to sustainable development or similar fields.
• Strong understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and their relevance to national development strategies.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• Familiarity with the socio-economic context of the Central African Republic is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in using statistical software and data analysis tools is an advantage.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidates should have at least a Master's degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, development studies, economics, or a related discipline. A PhD would be an asset but is not mandatory. Candidates with a strong academic background and relevant professional experience will be considered favorably.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in areas related to data analysis, research, or consultancy, particularly in the context of sustainable development. Experience working with international organizations or government agencies in the Central African Republic or similar contexts will be an added advantage. Previous experience in drafting reports or publications related to the SDGs is also desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the official language of the Central African Republic. Proficiency in English is considered a valuable asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages may also be beneficial for engaging with communities and local stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is for individual contractors only; companies submitting bids on behalf of individual consultants will be disqualified. The contract duration is for 30 working days over a period of two months. The position is part-time, and the consultants will be expected to manage their time effectively to meet the deadlines set by UNDP. Compensation will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidates, in accordance with UNDP's policies and guidelines.
