Job Overview:
The Online Social Cohesion Expert will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in fostering social cohesion through online platforms. This role involves developing strategies and initiatives that promote inclusivity, dialogue, and understanding among diverse communities. The expert will work closely with stakeholders to assess social dynamics and identify opportunities for enhancing social cohesion in the digital space. The position requires a deep understanding of social issues, digital communication, and community engagement, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret data related to social interactions online. The expert will also be expected to contribute to the development of training materials and resources aimed at building capacity among local organizations and community leaders.

Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A Master's degree in social sciences, communication, international development, or a related field is required. A PhD in a relevant area is an advantage. Additional certifications in online communication or social cohesion are desirable.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in social cohesion, community development, or related fields is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is preferred. Demonstrated experience in managing projects and working with diverse stakeholders is essential.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Urdu or other local languages is an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
The contract duration is for a total of 40 working days spread over 7 months, commencing from the date of signing the contract. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the expert will work remotely. The deadline for submitting proposals is 25-Aug-26 at 06:00 AM (New York time). Interested candidates must register on the UNDP supplier portal to submit their bids.

- Conduct assessments of social cohesion challenges in online environments and develop tailored strategies to address these issues.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and civil society, to promote social cohesion initiatives.
- Design and implement online campaigns that foster dialogue and understanding among diverse groups.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of social cohesion initiatives, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops for community leaders and organizations on best practices for promoting social cohesion online.
- Stay updated on trends and developments in social media and online communication that impact social cohesion.
- Prepare reports and presentations on findings and recommendations for UNDP and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in social cohesion, community engagement, or related fields, particularly in online contexts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
