Job Overview:
The Social Worker position at IOM involves assisting the coordinator in the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities related to migration and refugee support. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the National Project Officer and the Project Assistant, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and addressing the needs of beneficiaries. This role requires daily monitoring of services provided by service providers, cooperation with medical and psychosocial teams, and conducting vulnerability assessments for migrants and refugees. The Social Worker will also develop individual action plans, maintain comprehensive case files, and ensure timely updates in the project database. The position emphasizes the importance of collaboration, communication, and effective case management to support vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Social Worker include:

• Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities related to migration and refugee support.
• Daily supervision of services provided by service providers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Collaborating with medical and psychosocial teams for day-to-day activities requiring their assistance.
• Conducting vulnerability assessments for migrants and refugees and addressing their protection needs.
• Referring cases to competent agencies for specialized protection services.
• Following up on protection cases and ensuring quality case management.
• Maintaining comprehensive and updated case files for each case undertaken.
• Keeping beneficiaries informed about the progress of their cases.
• Regularly mapping services on-site and off-site to ensure access for migrants and refugees. 1

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Social Worker position include:

• A university degree in Social Work from an accredited academic institution.
• A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
• A master's degree in Social Work is considered an advantage.
• A license to practice social work is required.
• Membership with the Association of Greek Social Workers is an advantage.
• Familiarity with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees is preferred.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is beneficial.
• Computer literacy in standard software applications (e.g., MS Office) is necessary.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Social Work from an accredited academic institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. A master's degree in the same field is advantageous, and candidates should hold a license to practice social work. Membership with the Association of Greek Social Workers is also considered a plus.

Experience:
The position requires previous experience in a similar role, ideally with a focus on providing direct assistance to migrants and refugees.
